The serving order remains constant. Hence the numbers 1, 2, 3 & 4 in the first column.
If the initial server is No1, then his partner is No3. The Initial receiver is No4 & his partner is No2.
If your partner was the last person on your side to serve and your score is even, you should be in the left hand serving box. Because for you to serve, you must win a rally and consequently add a point to your score – going from an even score to an odd score.
Equally, if your score is odd you should be in the right hand service box, so that you get to serve when your score becomes even.
