BADMINTON England and the Tees Valley County Sport Partnership have appointed a local Badminton Development Officer.

The Tees Valley Badminton Development Officer (TVBDO) will lead the development and co-ordination of player and coach development activity within the five districts of Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Darlington.
The focus will be young people and the establishment of local player pathways linking to county and regional governing body structures
.

The main duties of the TVBDO will be: -

1.     Work with local clubs, schools, sports development teams and other appropriate agencies, for example, Teesside Badminton Coaches Association, to develop an activity plan – players and coaches.

2.     Work with the local Badminton Development Committee, to produce a comprehensive Development Plan for all levels of Badminton in the Tees Valley.

3.     Co-ordinate and support the delivery of the plan across the five districts.

4.     Support clubs working to achieve recognised accreditation standards – Silver Club/Clubmark.

The BDO is keen to hear from any organisation that plays badminton, no matter what the standard of play is. In order to update and maintain an effective development plan for Tees Valley, we need to know what schools (all levels, in curriculum hours and out of school hours), colleges, sports clubs, community clubs and youth clubs are playing badminton.

If you can help, please provide the BDO with any information available.
