BADMINTON England HEAD of DEVELOPMENT – George Wood

George, who was formerly BADMINTON England’s Coaching Manager, has been enticed back from Sport England. He took over his role as Head of Development in September 2007.

He was with BADMINTON England for seven years until the summer of 2006 before joining Sport England as a Senior Client Manager within the National Sport Team.

REGIONAL MANAGER – YORKSHIRE & NORTH EAST – Jo Clarke

Jo Clarke has been appointed as the Regional Manager – North East. She started on 1^st June.

The Yorkshire and North East regions have been merged under one Regional Manager in order that BADMINTON England can increase their investment in Regional Officers.

Jo will be based in Leeds.

BADMINTON DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – TEES VALLEY, DURHAM and SOUTH TYNE &WEAR – Rachel Frobisher

Rachel was appointed the Full Time Regional Officer in June 2010.

As with all the Regional Teams, Rachel is employed by BADMINTON England.

Rachel will cover the Tees Valley area as well as Durham and South Tyne & Wear.

70% of Rachel’s workload will be around the Community Badminton Networks (CBNs) in Sunderland, Durham, Stockton On Tees and eventually Hartlepool.

Rachel comes from a badminton family and has played since she was 4 years old.

Rachel played for Durham University and was Team Durham Sport President in 2008/09.

Rachel lives in Durham and works from the House of Sport at Durham University.
